Worship Family Street Child Initiative

We work with local partners providing funding and support to ensure successful delivery of activities and maximum impact for children living and working on Africa’s streets.

We provide a range of safe places for children so we can meet the needs of each and every child.

Drop-in centres are often the first place children will visit and here they can find a meal, somewhere to wash and clean their clothes, a safe place to sleep and trained counsellors to talk to.  Drop-in centres also receive referrals and are known by word-of-mouth so they reach more children than street workers could identify working on their own.

Residential centres provide short or long-term accommodation for children preparing to be reunited with their families or enrolled in education or vocational training.  Most have a weekly rota for household chores so children learn to look cook and look after their homes.  Counselling, recreation and informal education are available to help children prepare for formal schooling by improving their interpersonal skills, as well as numeracy and literacy. We provide a range of safe places for children so we can meet the needs of each and every child.
